'Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. ' 1 Timothy 4:12
Our student ministry’s mission is to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to our community in a relevant way. We do this by loving others, displaying the fruits of the Spirit, and serving others (Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 12:31, Gal. 5:22, 1 Peter 4:10). Any and all teaching done within our group is Scripture based. We focus on discipleship in order to help others learn how to have, maintain, and display their own faith in order to help share it with their friends and family. We do this because of the peace and joy we have received by accepting Jesus as our Savior. We also do this because we wish to see all people join us in heaven for eternity (2 Peter 3:9).
Our five core values are:
Biblical Values - We learn from the Bible, which guides us in living a spiritual life (2 Tim. 3:16).
Integrity - We strive to be genuine in our faith, acknowledging our mistakes and celebrating our successes together.
Supporting the Church - We build relationships within our local church and the global community by serving in various ministries, helping others, and supporting missions (1 Cor. 12:27).
Love - Our ministry emphasizes a family-like love that fosters healing and encouragement, allowing us to reflect the hope of Heaven (1 Cor. 13).
Evangelism - We prioritize sharing the Gospel and equip believers to openly express their faith in a loving manner (Matt. 28:19-20).
What is the Youth Learning?
January
Youth Group is a partnership between Parents, Students, and Youth Leaders. For students to become fully devoted disciples of Jesus, parents must be pouring into their students at home, and leaders must be able to help them along their journeys when they attend.
Youth Group is a place where students can fellowship with each other, and learn from each other. By understand the lessons being taught, and the verses being used, parents can intentionally reinforce what students learn at youth group.
Both parents and leaders are serving the students on their journeys, so below are the verses used, key ideas taught and some discussion questions.
